Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember preferences, keep sessions active, and collect aggregated usage statistics.
This policy explains which cookies prodigitalkey.com uses, for what purpose, and how you can manage your preferences.
2. Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the basic functioning of the site and cannot be disabled. They include:
- ✓ theme — stores your theme preference (light/dark)
- ✓ lang — remembers the chosen language between pages
- ✓ consent — records whether you accepted the cookie policy
These are first-party cookies, stored locally in your browser and never shared with third parties.
3. Analytics Cookies
We use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with the site and improve the experience:
- ✓ Aggregated metrics — pages visited, time spent, traffic origin
- ✓ Anonymised IPs — we never store full IP addresses
- ✓ No individual profiling — data cannot identify specific visitors
Analytics cookies are only activated after your explicit consent.
4. Third-Party Cookies
We do not use third-party advertising tracking cookies (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, etc.). The site does not do retargeting nor share data with advertising networks.
Optional support services (forms, embedded videos, maps) may load their own cookies when activated. These cookies are governed by the respective providers' policies.
5. Manage Preferences
You can control cookies at any time:
- ✓ Consent banner — accept or refuse non-essential cookies on first visit
- ✓ Browser settings — block or delete cookies in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge settings
- ✓ Private mode — anonymous browsing does not persist cookies between sessions
Refusing essential cookies may prevent some features (chosen theme, contact session) from working correctly.
6. Legal Basis
This policy follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Portuguese Data Protection Law (Law no. 58/2019). For more details on personal data processing, consult our Privacy Policy.
7. Chat Assistant
The chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the site stores an anonymous session identifier in the browser's localStorage (key pdk_chat_session_v1) to preserve conversation continuity across navigations. It is not an HTTP cookie — it stays on your browser and is never sent to external sub-processors.
- ✓ pdk_chat_session_v1 — conversation UUID + session-protection CSRF token. Persistent. Cleared via browser settings (clear site data).
- ✓ pdk_consent — HTTP cookie that records your choices in the cookie banner. Validity: 1 year.
For more details on how the chat handles data (including AI sub-processors), see section 11 of our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in services or legislation. The date of the last update is indicated at the top of this page. Significant changes are communicated by email to newsletter subscribers.
