# Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 2026

## 1\. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files your browser stores when you visit a website. They remember preferences, keep sessions alive and collect usage statistics.

This policy explains exactly which cookies **prodigitalkey.com** may write, for what purpose, **for how long**, and how you can manage your preferences. No cookie is written by our server: all of them are created by your browser, from the page's JavaScript.

## 2\. Giving and Withdrawing Consent

On your first visit, a banner lets you **Accept all**, **Reject optional**, or choose category by category. Accept and reject carry the same visual prominence, and nothing optional is loaded before you choose.

You may change or withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, using the **🍪 Cookie preferences** button in the bottom-left corner of any page. Withdrawal prevents future loading; anything already loaded on the current page stops loading from the next page load onwards.

## 3\. Essential Cookies (no consent required)

Needed for the site to work and to record your own choices. They are exempt from consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, transposed by Article 5 of Portuguese Law 41/2004.

- ✓ **pdk\_consent** — records the choices you made in the cookie banner. Without it, the banner would reappear on every page. First-party. Lifetime: **1 year**.

## 4\. Optional First-Party Cookies

Written by our own domain, never shared with third parties.

- ✓ **pdk\_vid** — a random identifier that lets us recognise a visit as yours rather than someone else's, so the same visitor is not counted twice. **Created only if you allow the _Analytics_ category.** Lifetime: **30 days**.
- ✓ **pdk\_utm** — stores the campaign parameters (`utm_source`, `utm_medium`, …) present in the URL you arrived with, so we know which channel brought you here. Lifetime: **30 days**.

Our baseline audience measurement is **anonymous and cookieless**: it works without any of these cookies and does not identify you individually. See section 12 of the [Privacy Policy](/en/privacy-policy/).

## 5\. Third-Party Cookies

The site is technically able to load the third-party tools listed below. **None of them is enabled by default**, and those that depend on consent are not even downloaded to your browser until you give it.

**Google Tag Manager** (Google Ireland Ltd.) — a technical container that manages the other tags. _It writes no cookies of its own._

**Google Analytics 4** (Google Ireland Ltd.) — usage statistics. Without your consent it runs in _Consent Mode_, **writing no cookies**. With _Analytics_ consent: `_ga` and `_ga_<ID>` (2 years).

**Microsoft Clarity** (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd.) — heatmaps and **session recording** (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling). Only with _Analytics_ consent: `_clck` (1 year), `_clsk` (1 day), `MUID` (1 year).

**Meta Pixel** (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) — conversion measurement and remarketing on Facebook and Instagram. Only with _Marketing_ consent: `_fbp` (3 months).

**TikTok Pixel** (TikTok Technology Ltd., Ireland) — conversion measurement and remarketing on TikTok. Only with _Marketing_ consent: `_ttp` (13 months), `_tt_enable_cookie`. **It involves transferring data to China** — see section 14 of the [Privacy Policy](/en/privacy-policy/).

**Microsoft UET** (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd.) — conversion measurement and remarketing on Microsoft Advertising (Bing). Only with _Marketing_ consent: `_uetsid` (1 day), `_uetvid` (13 months), `MUID` (1 year).

Third-party cookie lifetimes are those documented by each provider and may be changed by them without notice. We have no control over those periods.

## 6\. Local Storage (not cookies)

The keys below live in your browser's `localStorage` or `sessionStorage`. **They are never sent to the server with each request**, unlike cookies, and they are removed when you clear the site's data in your browser settings.

- ✓ **theme** — your light/dark theme preference. Persistent.
- ✓ **pdk\_chat\_session\_v1** — the chat widget's conversation identifier plus a CSRF protection token, to preserve continuity across navigation. Persistent.
- ✓ **pdk-chat-widget-shown** — prevents the chat widget from reopening within the same session. Cleared when you close the tab.
- ✓ **pdk-turnstile-cfg-v1** and **pdk-tags-cfg-v1** — a technical configuration cache (5 minutes), so we don't re-query the server on every page. Cleared when you close the tab.

## 7\. Managing Your Preferences

- ✓ **🍪 button** — bottom-left corner of any page; reopens the choices panel.
- ✓ **Browser settings** — you can block or delete cookies in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge.
- ✓ **Private mode** — private browsing does not keep cookies between sessions.

Rejecting the optional cookies does not restrict access to any part of the site.

## 8\. Legal Basis

This policy follows Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Portuguese Law 58/2019 and Article 5 of Law 41/2004 (which transposes the ePrivacy Directive), as well as CNPD Directive 2/2022 on cookies. For the processing of personal data generally, see the [Privacy Policy](/en/privacy-policy/).

## 9\. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or in the law. The date of the last update is shown at the top. An automated check prevents any third-party tool from being enabled without being declared here.
